From the very beginning, you will walk among towering palm trees under the Mediterranean sun and discover how this ancient crop arrived centuries ago and why Elche remains the only place in Europe where this tradition still thrives at this scale.
During the visit you will learn, in a simple and engaging way, how date palms are pollinated, how the fruit clusters are protected, and when the harvest takes place.
Then comes the highlight of the experience: tasting fresh dates straight from the tree. Recently harvested, they are soft, naturally sweet, and incredibly juicy—completely different from packaged dates. Quite literally, from the tree to your hand.
And yes, there is an unforgettable extra: you can climb a palm tree accompanied by a professional palmerero. It is safe, guided, and a surprisingly fun activity that very few people ever get the chance to experience.
