A unique event celebrating the red jewel of the mountains: the cherry, a symbol of flavor, tradition, and the Mediterranean landscape.

🍒 What is the Cherry Festival?
The Cherry Festival in La Carroja is one of the most authentic celebrations in inland Alicante. It coincides with the end of the Alicante mountain cherry harvest, a fruit with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) that stands out for its intense flavor and traditional cultivation.
This event, organized by the Unió Cultural d’Amics i Amigues de la Vall de Gallinera and the City Council, not only pays tribute to the region’s star fruit, but also promotes rural tourism, local commerce, and the customs that make this area unique.

🎉 Activities for the whole familiy
From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., La Carroja transforms into a true fair of aromas, colors, and flavors. Visitors can enjoy:
- Local produce market: freshly picked cherries, homemade jams, artisan pastries, olive oil, and more.
- Cherry pit throwing competition: a fun competition filled with humor and tradition.
- Children’s workshops and traditional games.
- Live music and street performances.
- Drawing and photography contests focused on cherries and the rural landscape.
In addition, many visitors take advantage of the day to walk the trails of the 8 Villages Route, admire the cherry trees, visit the viewpoints, or simply relax in a unique natural setting.

- 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. + 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Popular games and pottery workshop
- 11:00 a.m. Talk: “The Cherry of the Vall de Gallinera” by the Cerezas de la Montaña Cooperative of Alicante. In the Church
- 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Performance by Charanga El Dolar
- 2:30 p.m. Popular luncheon by the La Carroja Festival Committee in the Ivan Alemany Puchol Sports Area (Ticket: €15*)
- 5:00 p.m. Cherry show cooking by Margarida’s L’Almàssera Restaurant in front of the Church
- 6:00 p.m. International Cherry Pit Throwing Competition. Registration at the Pego i les Valls tourist information center.
- 9:30 p.m. Benirrama Festival Committee dinner in the Manuel Sanchis Guarner Town Square (Ticket: €15*).
- 11:30 p.m. Evening performances in the Manuel Sanchis Guarner Square with Jean Jass, Safor Skall Mates, and DJ Gascó.
